The Libra Room On Commercial

I came across this rare place located right in the heart of Commercial drive. This place offers an Italian inspired menu with a touch of West Coast flair offering Brunch, Lunch and Dinner. I really enjoyed the live bands they have show casing 7 days a week 6:30pm-9pm, check out their website for the line-ups. My favourite part of this place was the astrologically inspired drink menu. The mix of each drink is close to the personality described of each sign but i wont tell what i had on my last visit, a great conversation starter indeed. The Libra room seating is situated quite close together so it can get pretty loud and cozy. An upbeat artistic crowd, definitely a must see. As mentioned the Libra room is located on commercial drive at 1608. The hours of operation are; Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-1am, Fridays 3:30pm-2am Saturdays 10am-2am and Sundays 10am-1am. For reservations call (604) 255-3787.

London Pub Vancouver

My St. Patricks Day kick off couldn't get any better than this. I have been to the London Pub Vancouver a few times and experienced some great times. I just needed to share this spot with everyone. This place is a really laid back off the radar place to have a few beers, play some darts or shoot some pool. The lay out of the pub is really unique to its historic roots since 1903! With a wide selection of import beers and tasty Bangers n' mash and live entertainment this place can attract quite the diverse crowd! The London Pub is located 700 Main street, in Chinatown at the intersection of Main and Georgia. The skytrain is a short 4 blocks away. Hours of operation are; Sunday-Thursday 11am-12am and Friday-Saturday 11am-1am (604) 563-5053

The Noodle Box

South East Asian Noodles prepared with a Canadian spin ! Located on west 4th vancouver with a second location on Homer, this place is always buzzing with noodle bowl lovers from everywhere. The noodle box offers a flamed cooked wide selection of flavours and limited edition speciality items each season. This place also offers an impressive beer menu with the likes of Sapporo, Heineken, Asahi and Granville island to name a few. Noodle box offers both soup or stir-fry based bowls. I like how you can choose the level of spices and the cute take out split box! You can always catch a long line up at this place but worth the wait. The noodle box takes great pride in social responsibility. The Noodle Box puts their values in action by showing the community how serious they are in recycling and composting. Last year alone their efforts reduced 50% of the waste that would otherwise be sent to the landfill. For example, the chopsticks and napkins can be broken down and turned into compost. I am always supportive of a global cause and I am thrilled to see this practise implemented in the restaurant industry... makes for an amazing new movement. I hope you enjoy this lively noodle bar as much as I do.

Akari Japanese Restaurant - Delta

I have been to many Japanese restaurants however this Akari Sushi restaurant located in Delta is one of my new favourites. The menu is extremely long but expensive. The prices start from $11-$20 per roll! Akari provides an open kitchen so there is endless entertainment watching the sushi masters hard at work. Akari offers a grand variety of healthy sushi options. Akari integrated black rice to their menu not to long ago, another reason to eat here. I appreciated the education behind the health benefits of black rice in the informative  FAQ hand out given inside the menu. The quality of interior design is quite nice,  it has a typical lay-out along with private booths. I ordered the yellow fire tail sushi as you can see below the presentation was breath taking, my sushi was on FIRE and i loved it :). Akari offers a unique adventure throughout their menu far from the typical kinds of sushi you would find elsewhere. I look forward to my next visit. This restaurant does not have a website just yet but it is located 7261 120th street, Delta/Surrey border, telephone (604) 590-1192.

The Famous Warehouse

The Famous Warehouse is always a place i check in first before partying the night away on Granville street in vancouver's very own entertainment district. This place plays mostly heavy metal to top 40 overnight but the atmosphere is undeniably diverse and loads of fun! The food menu is outrageously cheap. Everything is under $5 (and yes you are reading this right). The quality of food you receive for the price you pay, you get large portions and great taste. The famous warehouse one offers all you can eat menus such as; Monday all you can eat pasta, Tuesday all you can eat tacos and Wednesday wing day. This place is busy around the clock, it can get loud and always has a line up. Rowdy place to attend game nights. Warehouse one is open from 11:30am-2:00am daily, it is located on 989 Granville street. I highly recommend this place for all the travellers, students or just anyone who enjoys a cheap and easy pick :).
